Pennywise
Pennywise are a venerable institution in the Southern California punk scene. These four guys from the South Bay took what they had learned watching Black Flag, Circle Jerks and Bad Religion and created their own sound. Obscene met up with the band at Total Access studios in Redondo Beach, the studio where Bro Hymn was recorded. Surrounded by gold and platinum plaques from Guns & Roses, No Doubt, Husker Du, Sublime and Black Flag, Fletcher, Byron, Randy and Zoli opened up about their past, the present and their future. If you spend any time with the band, it's obvious that Fletcher likes to talk and the rest of the band don't seem to mind.

DJ Mister E

With life being what we make of it, DJ Mister E  has accomplished what most can only dream about.  Being able to capture this man of mysterious amazement, night after night, we can honestly state he is one of the greats. Not only does he spin tracks for your dancing pleasures but keeps the crowd intrigued and screaming for more, even if that means climbing 25-foot light structures above, shooting jumbo confetti sticks over the flowing mass of music lovers beneath him.

This is one DJ you don't want to party without, as your guaranteed a night of non-stop rhythm and bass pumping through you system, making it the most talked about night the day after.  Don't take my words for it, solve the mystery yourself and follow up with what this incredibly talented individual has to offer.

The Poisonous Flower

Jazmin SiguenzaJust another night out on the town, when we came across this gorgeous and multi-talented young lady.  After making a stunning and breath-taking appearance at the JadaKiss record release party at Kress, in Hollywood, we just had to join up with Miss Venenosa for further indulging...

OBSCENE: Where did this beautiful and ever so rare flower originally bloom from?
JAZMIN:
My family's originally from El Salvador, Central America, but I was born in San Francisco, Ca. My brother, who is always getting into mischief, started a fire with his friends when he was just 5 years old! That's when my mother decided to move us to a small city called Los Molinos, about 3 hours north of San Francisco.  It's was a very tiny city that had a population of 300 people and I lived on the outskirts of that. So, you could imagine how much I was exposed to. We never had cable growing up but my family would rent movies all the time and that would be my way of seeing the world.

Monica Mayhem at KCAL 96.7
Monica Mayhem at KCAL 96.7Last month, Obscene Magazine caught up with our lovely June cover Monica Mayhem at the KCAL 96.7 radio station.  After we picked up Jimbo’s jaw off the floor, we sat her down in front of the mic and let her give a short story version of what makes her purr. Thank goodness Tiff was there to keep it together for Stu and Jimbo. She plugged her band and some of her current projects, and then she laid into what (Jimbo) really wanted to talk about… her rising fame as an adult film star.  I have never seen Jimbo blush or become speechless!  It was a very educational day for everyone.  She was even kind enough to judge a butt crack contest between two interns for the station.  Thank goodness she didn’t leave with any permanent damage to the retina.  Thanks to KCAL for letting us bring our Obscene moments to their studio, yet again!
