DJ Mister E

With life being what we make of it, DJ Mister E  has accomplished what most can only dream about.  Being able to capture this man of mysterious amazement, night after night, we can honestly state he is one of the greats. Not only does he spin tracks for your dancing pleasures but keeps the crowd intrigued and screaming for more, even if that means climbing 25-foot light structures above, shooting jumbo confetti sticks over the flowing mass of music lovers beneath him.

This is one DJ you don't want to party without, as your guaranteed a night of non-stop rhythm and bass pumping through you system, making it the most talked about night the day after.  Don't take my words for it, solve the mystery yourself and follow up with what this incredibly talented individual has to offer.

Where is DJ MisterE from?
I'm a So. Cal boy, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley.   I Love LA so much, I don't think I could live anywhere else.  The culture here gives me my drive to be creative and mix many styles and genres together, not only in life but in my sets as well.

How long have you been in the industry as a DJ?
I started performing as a magician at 8 years old. By the time I was around 14, I realized that incorporating music into my shows, my audiences really reacted strongly to the musical aspect and I then realized that entertaining others with music was the path I would walk.  16 years later I find myself continuing to evolve with my technology and talent and don't see myself slowing down anytime soon.

What other kinds of experiences has spinning led you to?
I started my own event production company (E-Magin Entertainment / Green Star Productions).  Since then I have acquired a warehouse full of inventory, developed a full time staff and gained the respect and business of the majority of LA's nightlife venues.  By integrating my DJ career with the company I have been able to work events and travel to locations I probably would have never seen without it.  I also have expanded my knowledge of music and programming much beyond the normal DJ from the experiences I have obtained while working hundreds of different types of events.

What have been some of your major accomplishments while in the entertainment industry?
At the age of 17, I was blessed with opportunity to work at Death Row Records on the Street Team, this was an amazing eye opening experience as I got to meet some true legends. When I was 19, I teamed up with MTV for several years as a traveling DJ to many off site locations around the world.  This is where I met not only someone who inspired me but eventually became one of my best friends, DJ Skribble.  At 23, I DJ'd all the movie premiere parties for the major studios and networks.  This led me to traveling with Sony Pictures and several worldwide event planners.  A few years later, I met Dylan Marer and The Karma Foundation, who gave me the prestigious role of becoming the Kandy Resident DJ for all the events they're involved with year round.  Including Kandy Events at The Playboy Mansion, Palms Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas and the world famous Kandy Kruise.

Some think that Dj means just spinning tracks or clicking on songs, what can u input about the art of being a DJ?
Well I don't want to give away all my secrets, but what I can say is that it all comes down to programming.  What I mean by this is the ability to chose the right songs at the right time for your crowd.  You can't just play the hit songs in the same order, that becomes very stale.  People in general want to be surprised and shocked, but in a way that keeps things in their comfort zone.  Everyone loves the most popular song on the radio that week but you can't forget about the popular songs on the radio from a year or two ago, or a decade ago and so on.

If you could put together a dream show what would it contain and where would it be?
My dream show incorporates my music video mixing with live elements.  I'm a performance artist at heart and love the theater, so I would want to do a large scale stage show / concert in a grand theater using videos, live musical instruments, performance acts and visual effects all in a surrounding that everyone can be dancing and expressing themselves from the energy created.  I call it the MisterE Experience.   A work in progress.

Where do you see yourself in about 5 years?
I really want to bring the video mixing to more markets and demographics.  I anticipate much more traveling to farther regions of the world and many more events.  2010 I will start to webcast alot of shows from different cities on the internet.  This will be something very cool to watch, as I mix music videos, live club footage and instant texting for all the world to see.  I also have major plans for my production company to expand into other cities and continue to grow larger and stronger.  The future is what we make of it....

Where can we find your ongoing success and keep up with production?
Well my website is always in a consistent state of change, a portal if you will.  There are direct links there to my fan pages on myspace, facebook, twitter, etc.  I also post my mixes for download and upcoming shows.   My detailed calendar is always up on myspace.com/djmistere.   For all the info you need, check out  www.djmistere.com

Any final words for thriving dj's or fans of your music?
Being a DJ is more than just playing songs, it's realizing you're the entertainment.  Watch your crowd and how they react to different genre's of music.  You don't have to mix and match every single song.  Don't be afraid to go digging in the digital crates of history to pull out some classics every now and then.  I try to be one with what the people want to hear and have a good time dancing to, rather than just play all the hit songs one after another.  Creativity is a huge party of what I do and I ended up alright.  My fans should know that they always come first and I love getting all the amazing feedback!  Lots of fun stuff in store for the new decade!   Thanks to everyone for the loving support and kind words of acknowledgement.
